David Steinweg, Ph.D., is a licensed psychologist specializing in children, adolescents and families. He earned his doctorate in counseling psychology from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1992. He was awarded the University Teaching and Research Fellowship for his graduate scholarship and research. He completed his doctoral internship at the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine — University Hospitals of Cleveland. He is a full member of the American Psychological Association and its divisions of Clinical Child Psychology and Family Psychology.

In addition to his private practice, Dr. Steinweg is an Adjunct Instructor at the Case Western Reserve University, Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences. He is a consulting psychologist with The Ratner School in Pepper Pike, The Agnon School in Beachwood, and Bellefaire/JCB in Shaker Heights. He provides clinical consultation to the American Psychological Association as well as mental health agencies and schools in Northeast Ohio. He trains mental health professionals locally and nationally in the areas of diagnostic assessment, family therapy, childhood depression, oppositional–defiant behavior, Attention–Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, and learning disorders.

Dr. Steinweg’s previous positions include Director of Clinical Services at the Children’s Aid Society and Director of Training at Applewood Centers. He has also been a teacher, a US Peace Corps Volunteer in Thailand, and a paralegal. In his spare time he is a musician.
